One of the questions asked of us most often is “when should I call the eye doctor?”  It is a great question.  The simple answer is to call any time you have any problem, concern, or question about your eyes or your vision.  Some of the more common problems we treat include:

bullet Red or pink eyes-Foreign bodies in the eye
bullet Mucus or watery discharge from the eyes (eyes stuck shut)
bullet Diabetes, high blood pressure, or thyroid disease
bullet Eye pain
bullet Floaters or flashes of light in vision
bullet Contact lens problems
bullet Double vision
bullet Blurred vision
bullet Up close and/or far away
bullet Dry eyes that feel sandy, gritty, or tired
bullet Loss of some or all vision, even for a few seconds
bullet Cataracts

We routinely see patients who have gone to their primary care doctor or the emergency room for treatment of the above problems only to have the problem misdiagnosed or ineffectively treated. Others are told to see an eye specialist.  If you are ever unsure about where to seek treatment for any issue with your eyes or vision call us for advice on how to handle your concerns or to make an appointment to see us.
