One of the questions asked of us most often is “when should I call the eye doctor?”  It is a great question.  The simple answer is to call any time you have any problem, concern, or question about your eyes or your vision.  Some of the more common problems we treat include:

	Red or pink eyes-Foreign bodies in the eye
	Mucus or watery discharge from the eyes (eyes stuck shut)
	Diabetes, high blood pressure, or thyroid disease
	Eye pain
	Floaters or flashes of light in vision
	Contact lens problems
	Double vision
	Blurred vision
	Up close and/or far away
	Dry eyes that feel sandy, gritty, or tired
	Loss of some or all vision, even for a few seconds
	Cataracts

We routinely see patients who have gone to their primary care doctor or the emergency room for treatment of the above problems only to have the problem misdiagnosed or ineffectively treated.
